As announced at last week’s PROMOTIONS EAST show, PPAI has entered into a strategic alliance with the Specialty Advertising Association of Greater New York (SAAGNY) to produce Expo East, a promotional products tradeshow designed to serve the eastern U.S. Under this strategic alliance, PPAI will bring its vision, growth management and production expertise to the eastern marketplace and PROMOTIONS EAST will cease operation. Expo East will enable PPAI to reach thousands of members and industry professionals who were not attending PROMOTIONS EAST, The PPAI Expo or other major tradeshows.
Visstun, Digispec, and CounterPoint have hired industry veteran, Mark Shea, as National Accounts Manager.
Shea brings over 25 years of sales and marketing experience to Visstun, Digispec, and CounterPoint. “With the recent departure of Brian Burka, due to the expiration of his work visa, Mark has some big shoes to fill!” says Paula Piano, Director of Sales and Marketing. “During his time in the industry, Mark has been both a supplier and distributor and has worked and consulted for a number of industry companies,” adds Piano. Shea has also served as a board member for Gold Coast Promotional Products Association.

DARD Products is proud to announce that Jason Emery has joined the DARD Products -Tagmaster Team as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Emery was welcomed to DARD Products by President Cary Shevin.

Emery brings an impressive track record of innovative sales management. His previous accomplishments include National Sales Manager at DARD products from 1999 – 2004, and Vice President of Sales of another industry top 40 supplier from 2004 – 2012.
Minnesota-based supplier Custom HBC has been sold to an investment group with other promotional products industry holdings. The company reports that the sale process is expected to close within the next few days.
A statement from the company said that while all operations at Custom HBC are on hold during the transaction, the company should return to normal operations by the end of April. However, it encourages distributors with Custom HBC orders shipping in April to seek another industry supplier.
Furthermore, Custom HBC has parted ways with its subsidiary, Custom Chocolate (UPIC: CstmChoc). Custom Chocolate has set up a separate operation at a new facility with new contact information. Custom Chocolate can be reached at 800-546-0772 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Vantage Apparel has promoted Jeff DePalma to Regional Sales Manager for East Coast and Canadian Regions. DePalma joined Vantage in 2009 and most recently held the position of Sales Operation Manager.
